35 American States and 4 Canadian Provinces have chiropractic benefits in their
Medicaid and Provincial Health Plans, respectively. Fee for service rates paid for chiropractic in these programs are usually less than 50% of the regular chiropractic visit fee
resulting in three possible outcomes:
Patient pays the difference or DC greatly
discounts fees
Doctor stops accepting patients under these
programs
Patients don't come in due to financial
hardships
The Chiropractic Diplomatic Corps has been successful in placing DCs in specially authorized nonprofit Community Health Centers where payment by the government is equal to local medical visits. So, these facilities can afford to contract with chiropractic providers to care for their Medicaid patients as long as the DC is willing to come onsite.
To protect these facilities from profiteering or unscrupulous providers, The CDC will only work with individual DCs of good reputation and able to work in an integrated setting. Interested DCs can contact the CDC by completing the following form.
